Philosophy and Program
Our philosophy is to encourage our children’s social, emotional, and intellectual
growth in a safe, secure learning environment. We achieve this through a structured
program of guided play, supervised by our teacher (1:8 ratio) and duty-parents (1:4).
Our teacher is responsible for organizing and implementing an age and developmentally
appropriate curriculum. Each session’s lesson, activities, and free-play are presented
in a context of self-discovery.
Children and their classmates learn through play, choosing from a variety of pursuits
including a sand table, water table, building blocks, arts & crafts, dramatic
play accessories, puzzles, play dough, and a variety of gross motor activities.
During the more formal portion of group learning, the focus is on language (Jolly
Phonics) and mathematics, as presented through stories, music and games.
